Our latest vacation was to a place called Huatulco, Mexico (very Southern part of Mexico on the Pacific side next door you might say to the equator).\u00c2\u00a0 A resort spa called Secrets.\u00c2\u00a0 This is probably one of the nicest resorts I have had the pleasure of staying at.\u00c2\u00a0 It is an all inclusive 5 star resort which opened in December 2011.\u00c2\u00a0 The rooms were very clean & comfortable with either a hot tub (in room) a Jacuzzi or a swimming area (right outside your door\u00c2\u00a0 on\u00c2\u00a0 ground floor) (your choice at time of booking) , the showers were simply amazing , double sinks, a private toilet (even has a phone..lol)\u00c2\u00a0 king size beds, large flat screen t.v., stocked fridge with water , juice, pop and beer,\u00c2\u00a0 all rooms have an ocean view, housecoats and slippers\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 oh ya did I mention 24 hour room service \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 whatever you would like off of the menu whenever you desired it\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6cake at 2 am \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 prawns on a scewer\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 we did take advantage of this special feature.. when room service delivered they put in a type of closet \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6where you open from the inside of your room \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 so you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even have to let room service in \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 they knock once and leave your food in covered plates\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 when your done \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 you can simply put all plates etc. back in the cupboard and they have a small door on the outside of your room where they take everything away. The resort has an all glass elevator which is a little freaky but you get used to it and enjoy the view all the way to the top\u00c2\u00a0 of the resort..\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0When we arrived at the resort we were greeted with a glass of champagne and a cloth to wipe our brow (oh the pain of it all)\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00c2\u00a0 There are 7 a la\u00e2\u20ac\u2122carte restaurants \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6the food was very good\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 no reservations needed\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6except for the Japanese \u00e2\u20ac\u0153chop chop\u00e2\u20ac\u009d guy who cooked your meal in front of you (very entertaining)\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 The resort claims to have the largest swimming pool in Mexico \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 and of course the swim up bar\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 The weather was no less than 90 degrees each day.\u00c2\u00a0 They have a spa and a gym attached with most of the equipment you would need including tread mills etc.\u00c2\u00a0 Another feature we enjoyed was no plastic bracelets and no card needed for towels (limitless towels)\u00c2\u00a0 The staff were very friendly most spoke a little English some not \u00c2\u00a0at all but they try very hard to understand.\u00c2\u00a0 There are activities daily , barbecues on the beach , nightly entertainment and of course the disco\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 the sun takes a lot out of us so we didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t partake in the nightly entertainment or the disco.\u00c2\u00a0 We went to a local\u00c2\u00a0 Eco \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Archeological park at Copalita (if you are into a good 2 hour walk you will enjoy this place)\u00c2\u00a0 We also ventured out to a small town called La Crucecita (where the locals did not bother us with sales at all)\u00c2\u00a0 we enjoyed seeing 1 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 12 day young parrot and 2 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 4 day young parrots that some vendors had as pets .\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 On our beach the locals cordoned off an area of the beach as a turtle had laid her eggs & they are very protective of the turtle there.\u00c2\u00a0 There were these black birds everywhere a cross between let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s see a sea gull and vulture ?!\u00c2\u00a0 We watched a local kid fish with just some fishing line and a hook \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 he was catching what he called baracuda\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ( a long thin fish that was blue & silver ) he buried them in the sand ( I guess to keep cool til\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 he took them home)\u00c2\u00a0 We really enjoyed our trip to Huatulco and would recommend Secrets to anyone interested in going to Huatulco !<\/p>\n
